Mili Avital is an Israeli actress, writer, and producer who built an international career starting in her native Israel where she starred on stage, on film, and on television.

Avital won the Israeli Academy award for best-supporting actress in 1991. However, she moved to New York in 1993 to study theatre in English and she was discovered by an agent while working in a restaurant.

She, therefore, started acting in Hollywood almost immediately and she maintained her career in both countries since.

she was born in Jerusalem, Israel and she was raised in Tel Aviv and Ra’anana in Israel. Mili was the daughter of Noni and Iko Avital.

Both her parents were Hispanic Jews. Her father Iko was born in Morocco and her mother Noni was born in Israel but she was of Turkish descent she studied at Thelma Yellin High School of Arts in Givatayim Israel.

She arrived in New York in the year 1993 to study acting at the Circle in the Square theatre school. The following year when she was discovered by an agent she was cast as the female lead in the film stargate in the year 1994.

She received a sci-fi award for the film stargate. Mili Avital received an Israeli critic’s circle award for best actress for her role in noodle.

She also won Israel’s person of the year nomination in the year 2006. She was nominated for best actress in drama series in her role in the Tv series prisoner of war.
