Bea Alonzo is a Filipino Actress who first gained recognition for the 2002 teleserye Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay, after which she paved her way to becoming an international sensation.

1. Bea Comes from a Diverse Background

Bea was born Phylbert Angelli Ranollo Fagestrom on October 17, 1987, in Rizal to Philip Fagestrom and Mary Anne Ranollo. Her father is British.

Her parents separated when she was still young and her mother, grandmother and aunt primarily raised her. She is the oldest of four children and her family played an important role in her life and career.

During her young age, she constantly moved around, which caused her psychological troubles. As a result of this hectic lifestyle, Bae grew up depressed and in an interview, she said she was lonely and cut off from the rest of the world during her early teenage years.

Bea is a talented content creator with a large following on her YouTube channel called Bae Alonzo. Currently, the channel has more than 2.85 subscribers and 119 videos.

She posts a variety of content videos, including vlogs and pranks. The vlogs usually show her day-to-day lifestyle and the things she normally does.

3. Bea Educational Background

Bea completed elementary education in 2001 at the Jose Abad Santos Memorial School, Quezon city. She then joined the Fisher Valley College in Taguig Ususan Elementary School in Ususan and Colegio de Santa Ana in Taguig.

At 13, her acting talent was located by a talent manager Archie Ilagan. He saw the passion in the young girl to do something big in her life and decided to help her sharpen her skills. She was enrolled at the ABS-CBN Circle Bath in 2,000.

Although her grandmother asked her to try out for a beauty contest as it would have been a perfect stage to start her entertainment career. In 2002 she was featured in Kay Tagal Kang Hanintay which she played a breakthrough role as a lawyer Katrina who fell in love with the first love of her oldest sister.

The drama series received a significant hit among the audience and critics. Eventually, it became the first Filipino Opera to get nominated for the International Emmy Awards and Bea received her first award for Best Actress nomination.

In 2008, it was announced that she would play the leading character Betty Pengson in the TV Sitcom Yo Soy Betty La Fea, which originated from Columbia. The Philippine version was titled I Love Betty La Fea and premiered in September 2008 in the primetime slot.

In 2011, she renewed her contract with ABS-CBN. She was set to do two movies under Star Cinema and a reunion drama, The Mistress, with her on-screen partner, John Lloyd Cruz.

In 2014, she starred in the international hit TV drama Sanu Bukas Pa ang Kahapon (Tomorrow Belongs to Me) opposite Paulo Avelino and Albert Martinez.

In June 2008, Bea released her debut album, The Red Me, under Star Records. Star Records is a Philippine record label owned by media conglomerate ABS-CBN corporation.

Bea’s huge and growing fan following made sure the album was a success. The album also received criticism that wasn’t praised and was a success.

7. Bea Landed a Role in a Hollywood Film

Bea is set to stare in Angel Warrior, a Hollywood film inspired by fact-based events during World War II. Her role will be a dauntless pre-war Filipino whose experience pushed her to become an underground fighter.

According to the online portal Variety, the film will be produced by Inspire Studios founder Francis Lara Ho with John Sheperd and 2022 presidential candidate and boxing Legend Manny Pacquiao. Angel Warrior is scheduled to be released in the Us and worldwide in late 2022.

8. She has Been Involved in Several Charity Works

Bea started a charity foundation in 2020 with her friends. The charity is named I Am Hope which helps frontline workers in the medical profession.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Bea and her friends gathered more than PHP 6 million in Jusa, a month for the COVID-19 relief effort, including the distribution of food, vitamins, and personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies to 27 hospital and 17 communities.

The actress loves traveling a lot. She travels for work, leisure, and to discover and enjoy new places.

She loves collecting plants and taking care of them in her YouTube Vlogs. Her home is dotted with carefully curated, beautifully potted indoor plants.
