 Enrique Gil on March 30, 1992, in Cebu City, Philippines. He is the second son of Enrique Amadeo Gil III and Barbara Anne Bacay. His parents used to work as crew for Philippine Airlines. Enrique is also related to Dingdong Dantes.

 He is a Filipino actor, dancer and commercial model. He has acted in various films and television shows such as Mula Sa Puso, Budoy, Princess and I, Muling Buksan Ang Puso and She’s the One.

Gil is well established for his role as Alexander Grande III in the television series Forevermore in 2014–15. He acted alongside Liza Soberano.

Additionally, he has starred in various films such as Just The Way You Are (2015), Everyday I Love You (2015), Dukot (2016), My Ex and Whys (2017), Seven Sundays (2017), and Alone/Together (2019).

Gil schooled at the Montessori De Manila in March 2004. A private institute inside the BF Executive Village in Las Piñas. He attended secondary school at the Manresa School in Parañaque in March 2008.

Gil and his siblings were raised in a well-up family. He is the second son of Enrique Amadeo Gil III and Barbara Anne Bacay.

He finished his grade school at the Montessori De Manila in March 2004. This is a private institute inside the BF Executive in Las Piñas.

After his grade school, he attended secondary school at the Manresa School in Parañaque in March 2008. Moreover, he went to San Beda College Alabang to pursue a degree in Information Technology. However, he put his studies on hold to focus on his acting career.

He resumed back to his studies in 2016. He started attending a Business Management Program at the Southville International School in BF International, Las Piñas.

3. He Attended musical theatre workshops to Overcome Shyness

He was convinced by his mother to join My Talent summer workshops. Which were headed by Trumpets Playshop founder and STAGES president Audie Gemora. This was to help him overcome shyness.

Amazingly, they pushed him to audition for Star Magic. He landed his first television role in the action-drama series Pieta where he played the character Harold.

4. He Started Modelling at the Age of 16

After joining My Talent summer workshops and ending his shyness. He started his modelling career during that time.

Enrique Gil appeared in a series of TV commercials. This included a Lewis and Pearl advertisement, alongside Coleen Garcia. Moreover, he had a cameo appearance in I Love Betty La Fea as one of the “Eco-models.”

5. Bagged his first television role in the series Pieta in 2009

Gil started his acting career in 2009 in the series Pieta. Moreover, during the taping of Pieta, his mother convinced him to audition for the sitcom George and Cecil.

Amazingly, As soon as head writer and director Jose Javier Reyes saw Gil, he immediately cast him to be on the show. Later he was cast in the indie film Pitas as the brother of the lead character played by Kristel Moreno.

Since then Gil has acted in several other movies. In 2010 he co-starred in the Indie War Film Diego and his Brothers. He joined ASAP XV as one of Star Magic’s “Gigger Boys” in April.

7. He Starred in One of the Most Popular Shows on ABS-CBN

In 2012, Gil Starred in Princess and I. He played Dashi Jao Rinpoche. It beat one of the most popular shows on ABS-CBN. This show made him popular.

Additionally, He was also cast in the film The Reunion. This is a Filipino teen romantic comedy film directed by Frasco Mortiz. He was included in Amorosa, his first horror film.

Later in the year, he appeared in The Strangers. It was one of the official entries for the 38th Metro Manila Film Festival. This was his first MMFF film.

8. Gil Earned a Best Supporting Actor Nomination in the FAMAS Awards

In October 2013, Gil Starred in the Film She’s The one. She acted along with Bea Alonzo and Dingdong Dantes.

Many considered this his breakthrough film as an actor. The film earned 12 million pesos on its first day and grossed 135 million pesos on its fifth week.

9. Released his debut dance album called King of the Gil under Star Records

Gil gained attention for his dancing skills through his signature moves to the song Teach me How to Dougit and Gentlemen. Interestingly, he released a debut dance album under Star Records.

Its title was King of the Gil. It reached Gold status. Moreover, Gil held his first headling sold-out dance concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in 2013. It was attended by special guests such as Angel Locsin, Vice Ganda and Kim Chiu, name them.

10. Joined the PETA campaign Free Mali in 2013

The campaign aimed to free an elephant named Mali from the Manila zoo for her well-being. The only captive elephant in the Philippines and was in captivity for the majority of her life, alone. She was in a tiny enclosure and need of proper care.

Additionally, In the same year, Gil donated part of the proceeds of his King of the Gil concert. He donated to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

Gil alongside the cast of Forevermore participated in Hoops for Hope. A Charity Basketball Game. This a project organized by the Bakhita Canossa Foundation to sustain the construction of houses for the Yolanda victims at Brgy.
