The National Gallery has announced a series of special events and installations to celebrate the convent’s rich history and showcase its unique blend of medieval and contemporary art. Local historian Jana Novak explains, “The Convent of Saint Agnes is often overlooked by tourists. But it’s one of Prague’s most important Gothic buildings. The new exhibits make it easier for visitors to understand its place in Czech history.”
Summer Events
Throughout July and August, the convent will host outdoor concerts in its gardens. Local and international classical musicians will perform pieces inspired by medieval themes.
City officials hope the convent’s revival will help spread tourists more evenly across Prague’s historic sites. “We want visitors to discover the city’s hidden gems,” says tourism director Petr Svátek. “The Convent of Saint Agnes offers art, history, and a quiet place to relax – all without the long lines.”
