1.Born and Bred in France

He was born in Longjumeau, France on 17 July 1994.

His parents were Monique Mendy, and Mendy Snr., his father, and they were of African ethnicity from Côte d’Ivoire.

Mendy has always been a fun-loving figure who dresses up as a monarch.

 As a teen, Mendy was also a PlayStation junkie. This was due to his prowess on the PlayStation.

2.He Made his Professional Debut for Le Harve at 17

On July 24, 2011, he signed a three-year contract with Ligue 2 club Le Havre, his first professional contract.

With his explosiveness came his fast physique grows, allowing him to quickly ascend through the club’s player levels.

On 9th august 2011, he made a professional debut in the team’s 2–1 Coupe de la Ligue, during the second round and defeated Amiens.

3.He signed for Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseille just few days to his 19th birthday

He was driven to take his life and profession seriously by his coach Marcelo Bielsa called ‘El Loco’ at Marseille, and Mendy stated that “given back to him the strength and ferocity he had lost last year.

He began a weight-loss program, limited his sugar intake, and awoke too early to work out on his own. It didn’t take him long to establish himself as Marseille’s best and most popular player. However, former Marseille left-back Eric Di Meco criticized him and claimed he would “eat a rat” if Mendy ever made the French national team.

But he started performing against Lille on April 20, 2014.

During the season, he was named to the 40-man shortlist for the 2014 Golden Boy Award

In the 2014–15 season, Mendy made 33 league starts and contributed 6 assists as Marseille qualified for the Europa League.

Monaco is the world’s most marketable club and approached him about a possible transfer.

He met Jardim, the man who took him on both as son and a player.

His first goal for Manaco was in Coup de France against former club Marseille in March, and it gave Manaco a 3-2 lead, as he also provided two assists in the 4-3 Victory.

Monaco made to the semi-finals of the Champions League, and he provided 4 assists in the campaign although they were eliminated by Juventus.

Mendy was a key part of Monaco’s 2016–17 Ligue 1 championship season, scored a league-leading 107 goals during the season.  Mendy was noted along with fellow full-back Djibril Sidibé for their forward play.

 On 16 May, Mendy was named to the 2017 UNFP Team of the Year, along with 5 of his teammates. The next day, Monaco clinched the Ligue 1 title against Saint-Étienne on the penultimate day of the season, and it was his final game with the club.

He was among the starlets who left Stade Louis II after the season, including Bernardo Silva, Tiémoué Bakayoko, and later Kylian Mbappé.

6.He joined Premier League Team Manchester City on a Record  $52 Million Fees

He signed a five-year contract by Premier League team Manchester City on July 24, 2017, at £52 million.

The transfer fee shattered the previous record for a defender, which was achieved by City on colleague Kyle Walker just 10 days previously.

His right knee was injured during the match, against Crystal Palace on September 23, 2017 by Palace attacker Andros Townsend.

With this appearance, he completed the requisite five league games for a Premier League winners’ medal.

Mendy appeared in 10 of Manchester City’s first 12 Premier League games in the 2018–19 season, assisting on five goals. On November 14, 2018, just days after beating Manchester United 3–1, it was revealed that Mendy had undergone surgery in Barcelona for a cartilage condition in his left knee, and he would be sidelined for 12 weeks. Mendy scored his first goal for City in a 5–0 home league triumph over Burnley on November 28, 2020.

7.He had Been Awarded a Red card for being a Professional Foul

On September 23, 2015, shortly after replacement against Toulouse, he was awarded a straight red card for a professional foul on Toulouse’s Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro.

In January 2016, he was given a two-match suspension which eventually made him miss 13th games for Marseille.

In Monaco, he  received a red card on December 18 against Lyon in Ligue I after kicking  Corentin Tolisso.

This was his second red card of the season, following his dismissal against Villarreal in the Champions League play-off round.

He received a five-match suspension for the incident, which was eventually reduced to four when he returned against Lorient 

8.He has been Charged with Numerous Counts of Rape and Sexual Assault

On 26 August 2021, Cheshire Constabulary charged him with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault and remanded him in custody.

The initial charges were between October 2020 and august 2021.

His application for bail was refused, as he had broken prior bail conditions imposed that he should not host any house parties. Manchester City suspended him pending a trial.  Mendy appeared in court on 10 September and was remanded in custody.

On 13 September 2022, he was found not guilty of one count of rape against a 19-year-old woman.

The jury delivered a not guilty verdict after the prosecution decided not to pursue on one account

9.He had Won Many Awards and Among Them is FiFA World Cup 2018

He has played as a left-back scoring 6 goals in various clubs and France team, has made him to have decent career, especially in the two teams of Monaco, and Manchester City. However, in the national competitions in the France team, Benjamin Mendy won FIFA World Cup 2018.

10.He keeps his Private Life Largely Secret and Enjoys Spending a lot of Time with his Team mates

He spend most of his time with his teammates rather than spending with a lady
