Joshua Ilan Gad was born on 23 February 1981. He is an American actor. He is known for voicing Olaf in the Frozen franchise, playing Elder Arnold Cunningham in the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon.

Josh Gad is also known to be featured on Le Fou in the live-action adaptation of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. He comes from a working-class family. His mother, Susan, is a real estate agent and his stepfather is an investment advisor. In the article are the top facts about Josh Gad.

1. Gad believes his father is a descendant of the Tribe of Gad

According to the Bible, the Tribe of Gad was one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel who, after the Exodus from Egypt, settled on the eastern side of the Jordan River. It is one of the ten lost tribes.

His father, Sam also Shmuel Gad was born to a Jewish family in Afghanistan. He moved to Israel as a teenager. Is moving to Israel a reason why Gad regards his father as an Israelite descendant? The NSU University School, commonly known as University School, is a fully accredited, independent, college preparatory school in Davie, Florida. It serves grades pre-K through grade 12. The school is located on the Nova Southeastern University (NSU) campus.

While in University School Gad won the National Forensics League (NFL) National Tournament Championships for Original Oratory in 1998 and 1999. He also won the 1999 Humorous Interpretation at the National tournament in Phoenix. Gad graduated from the school in 1999.

ER is an American medical drama television series created by novelist and physician Michael Crichton that aired on NBC from September 19, 1994, to April 2, 2009, with a total of 331 episodes spanning 15 seasons.

It was produced by Constant C Productions and Amblin Television, in association with Warner Bros. Television. It follows the inner life of the emergency room (ER) of Cook County General Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and various critical issues faced by the department’s physicians and staff. Gad made his television debut by guest-starring in an episode of ER.

5. Gad launched the YouTube series Reunited Apart during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Reunited Apart is an ongoing web series created by Josh Gad, first streamed in April 2020. Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, each episode reunites the cast, crew, and related celebrities from a fan-favourite film using video conferencing as Gad interviews them about the film and projects they have done since.

Though Gad had initially stated that the series would end with six episodes, he launched a second season in December 2020. The series is aimed at raising money for various charitable efforts.

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a mental and behavioural disorder. It is characterized by excessive, uncontrollable, and often irrational worry about events or activities.

Fear often interferes with daily functioning, and individuals with GAD are often overly concerned about everyday matters such as health, finances, death, family, relationship concerns, or work difficulties.

Gad has come out in the past couple of years talking about his struggle with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, as part of his effort to combat mental health stigma and shame.

As an effort towards squashing the mental health stigma, Gad joined other celebrities in 2018 in an ongoing project through the Child Mind Institute, titled #MyYoungerSelf. This campaign focuses on normalizing mental health, especially in kids.

8. Gad played Skip Gilchrist in the political sitcom 1600 Penn

1600 Penn is an American television sitcom about a dysfunctional family living in the White House. The series stars Jenna Elfman, Bill Pullman, and Josh Gad. Gad, Jason Winer and Jon Lovett jointly created the central character and the sitcom’s core format.

NBC placed a series of orders in May 2012. The series aired as a mid-season replacement from December 17, 2012, to March 28, 2013. On May 9, 2013, NBC cancelled the series after one season.

9. Gad has won numerous awards in his entire career

For his role as Olaf, Gad won two Annie Awards. For his work in The Book of Mormon, he co-won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. Also, he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical, both shared with Andrew Rannells as one of the two leading artists.

10. Gad considers himself spiritual and not religious

Gad was born into Judaism and was brought up under the influence of Judaism. His wife Ida Darvish is a Catholic. However, Gad has stated that while he loves the traditional aspects of Judaism and celebrates some traditions of his wife’s Catholicism, he considers himself spiritual but not religious.
